At the helm of DKBZA is Gabriel Brum, a Uruguayan composer, arranger, producer and guitarist, whose career is marked by the exploration of different genres and by a particular relationship between the guitar, composition and production work.
The story of DKBZA has its roots in Lokrio, a project with which Brum began developing his own music and exploring a combination of rock, pop, jazz, Latin music, Río de la Plata rhythms, and other influences present throughout his career. Over time, that experience evolved and found a new form of expression in DKBZA.
DKBZA was not born as a project independent of that journey, but as its natural evolution. It retains the spirit of exploration and creation of Lokrio, but incorporates new experiences, sounds, and a broader perspective on musical composition and production.
In DKBZA, songs are the starting point for building a sound universe where guitars, melody, rhythm, harmony and production coexist, with room for both songwriting and improvisation and instrumental exploration.
Currently, Gabriel Brum is developing DKBZA as one of his main original music projects, working on new compositions and productions that continue a story that began decades ago.
